Last Wednesday, February 4, 2009, I was invited and attended an Alternative Classroom Learning Experience prepared by UPSPECA, to speak about photoblogging. It was pretty embarrassing for me to speak in front of UP students that may be far better speakers than me, and be part of a group of speakers that were used to speaking in public, mostly teachers from UP. Nonetheless, it was fun experience for me, since this isn't what extremely shy people like me got to do everyday. I learned a lot from the other speakers talks themselves and I considered myself to be part of the listening students rather one of the speakers. I was grateful to be invited and finally I was able to step into one of the best universities in the Philippines.
After the talk, I was able to take a few photos of the beautiful UP campus. Unfortunately, we hadn't much time for snapping photos as it is almost dusk and we had another event to attend to in Makati. This photo is one of the handful photos I was able to take. This is the UP Diliman Oblation statue. I think it's one of the most photographed landmarks in the Philippines, as I have already seen it a lot of times. The famous sculpture was created by Guillermo E. Tolentino and has served as an icon for UP since. It is important to note, though that this is only a bronze replica and the original Oblation is kept in the Main Library, which unfortunately I wasn't able to see.

I would have preferred if the head was still in front of the sky instead of the roof.

@Sidney - I think so, too. But we were in a hurry that time so I wasn't able to concentrate much on composition. Next time, I'll visit UP, I'll do better.
